SAMPOLOGY SAMPLE.

Since hearing about the release of Sampologys new DVD Super Visual Disco Party I’ve been waiting until I can drop something on the site about this guy.

We caught up with Sam a while ago and were blown away by his show. This dude is super young, has great technique and obviously knows how to put things together.

Anyway, check out this video that was released on Pedestrian earlier today:

Sampology is currently residing in New York where he is the visual DJ for the ‘Tom Tom Crew’ show at Manhattan’s New Victory Theatre. Obviously putting those skills to good use.

Look forward to hearing a bit more about Sampology very soon. We really like what he is doing. This is definitely the future of live dance music – just look at how much the crowd immediately gets into it once they see Jonah break it down.

LOVE JUNGLE.

We spoke to the students at Enmore Design Centre on Wednesday night about our brand, what we do, and design in general. Putting together a presentation for the night was a lot of fun because it bought back some old memories. Here’s some we thought you might like to see.

These images are from about 3 years ago when we decided to start this label called Love Jungle.

After a few months of meticulously reworking these concepts into all different shapes and sizes, this was the final cut:

Hopefully we can bring each of these back one day. But at the time we decided that neither of them was going to work that well. So we went a completely different way and came up with something like this.

Inspiration comes from all over.

The concept for this piece was that our first range would be a collection of hoodies heavily incorporating all over floral prints; old school wall paper style. But once we started looking into this we decided that it might tire too quickly, wasn’t really our thing, and was way too expensive. So we bought things back a little. We decided that our brand needed to be simple, timeless and minimal. We wanted to create something that was going to last.

The final logo came from one very late night when we decided that the best start for the brand would come from a natural, free-flowing logo. We grabbed the spray can. This was the first thing that came out. True story. Photo taken with the closest camera – a Nokia 6300 – giving it that extra grainy effect. We like it.

Cleaned up a little in photoshop, this is the final. Works both ways.

And in practice.

DOING THINGS DIFFERENT.

Yeah we only sell guys clothes. But do you guys really wanna see dudes all over our website all the time?

I wouldn’t.

Here’s a couple of flicks we took at Bondi with our good friend Bec a couple of months ago. The shots never made it to print, but they are too good to go past.

Check how good this shit looks.

WATERSLIDE WEEKEND.

We spent most of today hanging out watching waterslide videos thanks to the disruptive efforts of one of our friends. Here’s a collection of highlights.

Hope you enjoy them as much as we did.

FASHION. IT’S FASHION. FASHION.

Man did we hear that word a lot this past weekend. The “Fashion” industry. It’s a crazy one.

On Friday and Saturday we attended the first ever Fashion Palette seminars to hear from some of the industries most respected experts. For any young designer that missed it, you should probably check it out next year. It was an awesome experience full of valuable insight. Here’s a few of our favourite highlights:

This is Arturo Elena. He is a sick fashion illustrator from Spain. These photos really don’t do his work justice.

Kate from Stylehunter.com is on top of the game at the moment when it comes to working out the web. Really intelligent stuff.

The lovely ladies from White Sands.

This is Peter Dwyer. At one point he looked like some sort of weird reptile dude giving a presentation that would really freak out the kids.

But he did have some awesome work.

Rodd and Gunn. For the man’s man.

InStyle showed us some awesome shoots they’ve worked on lately.

Daniel Herman showing some sexy latex underwear and some really sick techniques.

Insight dudes.

That’s where it’s at.

And last but not least, Peter Morrissey. Absolutely killing it.

He probably hates it that I link to his bio on the Morrissey brand website (read: latest news), but just check out what this guy has done. Note to Peter: should start your own Wiki page.
